Compartir este evento

Please join us for a very special evening of dinner, drinks, and conversation. Enjoy incredible vegan Trinidadian food paired with local tasty beverages. Learn about food justice from lauren Ornelas, founder of Food Empowerment Project. Your ticket price also gives you access to tour the inspiring exhibits at the NW African American Museum and the ability to bid on a collection of truly unique auction items. Purchase the ticket that is right for you - Standard ticket $45; Super Supporter ticket $70; Discounted ticket $30.

Join us to support Food Empowerment Project's work to create a more just and sustainable world for humans, non-human animals, and our planet. Cocktail attire is encouraged.

About the NW African American Museum:
During the evening you'll have the opportunity to tour two different art exhibits: "You're Not From Around Here Are You?" - art by mixed media artist Lisa Myers Bulmash and "Unshuttered, Black Joy"  - a photo exhibit  featuring the work of Zorn Taylor, Jessica Rychel and Mintwab Zemeadim. The museum's main history exhibits will also be open to all guests.

About the food:
We are thrilled to be partnering with Beverly Bates, the brilliant mind behind Double Up, Seattle's only Trinidadian doubles vendor. Doubles are a very popular food in Trinidad and Tabago and Double Up has been selling out all over Seattle this year. Don't miss this rare chance to try this delicious dish. We will also have beverages from local purveyors that will pair perfectly with the doubles.

About the Auction:
We will have a small collection of exclusive items and experiences that you won't be able to pass up, especially knowing that your winning bid will support Food Empowerment Project. More details will be posted closer to the event.

There is no age restriction, but the event more likely to be enjoyed by adults and older children. There is parking at the museum and at the Jimi Hendrix Park next door. The museum is on the #48 bus line and 4 blocks from the #7 and #108 bus lines. This event is wheelchair accessible. If you have questions or would like to request other accommodations, please contact Kimberly at kimberly.wogahn@gmail.com.
