Dance Through the Decades: THE 1920s with THE FAT BABIES

"Hey there cutes
put on your dancin' boots
and come, dance with me ..."

It would be hard for me to overstate how much I've been looking forward to this event. Almost exactly a year ago we celebrated our grand opening at Studio5. As we were planning the event we discussed featuring a live band, and I thought for about two seconds before I blurted out, "I want the Fat Babies!" This band is so good I can't stand it. They accurately and passionately perform the music of the 1920s in a way that is, all at once, exciting, fun and moving. Our opening weekend was a tremendously good time and I've been eager to have the Fat Babies back all year. Oh, and by the way, the dance floor was packed. When we recently decided to begin our "Dance Through the Decades" series, I thought for about a second and blurted out, "I want the Fat Babies!" I guess I'm getting quicker.

On Friday we'll move the rug back a bit and open up the large Studio5 dance floor for anyone who wants to get on up and oil their ankles. So join us for the first installment of our Dance Through the Decadesseries. Welcome to the Jazz Age! The floor is open and the band is red hot. Turn back the clock and come out to dance to the sounds of the 1920s with The Fat Babies! Or just sit and drink it in. Either way you'll leave with a little extra spring in your step. SR
