Beer & Beans

Due to the overwhelming success of our annual cassoulet cook-off, Jimmy's No. 43 is expanding to an entire weekend of cassoulet events! First up, a beer tasting that will include 10+ beers that you can pair with three different (bean/meat) cassoulets made by guest chefs including Josh Stokes (f/o Gramercy Tavern), Patti Jackson (f/o I Trulli), and Jimmy's No 43. We're pairing with our top 10 beers to go with cassoulet, with a mix of local and imports:

Mikkeller - Santa's Little Helper Holiday Ale,
Wandering Star - Mild at Heart (English dark ale),

Cassoulet recipes are still in the works, but may include: Smoked ham, brown ale, and Navy bean cassoulet; Hudson Valley Duck, "All duck and bean" cassoulet; or a classic French cassoulet. All our beans will be sourced from Cayuga Pure Organics, and all the meat from Union Square greenmarket meat farmers.
