Julia May Jonas is a playwright and the founder and Artistic Director of Nellie Tinder. Past Nellie Tinder works include Emily Climbs (Machine Méchant) (The Brick Theater/Revolutions Festival, NM), Evelyn (The Bushwick Starr/Incubator Arts Center), Raise Your Voice in Medieval Counterpoint (Prelude Festival), and For Artists Only (Bushwick Starr/Ontological). Most recently she collaborated with Meghan Finn and composer Brian Cavanagh-Strong on the play Michigan Murders for a University Premiere as part of the New Works Initiative at Montclair State University (New Georges Audrey Residency.)  She is concurrently developing several plays of her play-cycle All Long True American Stories, including A Woman Among Women (A response play to Arthur Millers All My Sons) with director Sarah Hughes. 2016/17 member of The Jam, Affiliated Artist with New Georges. MFA: Columbia University. Nellie Tinder has received support from the Rockefeller Foundation and The Mental Insight Foundation.

DIRECTED BY:
Shannon Sindelar is a director and theater producer based in New York. Recent directing credits include the world premieres of Peretz Hirschbein's ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER (new translation, HERE), Sara Farrington's REQUIEM FOR BLACK MARIE (Incubator Arts Project), Miranda Hubas CANDY TASTES NICE (HERE/Madame X), the New York premieres of Tennessee Williams' THE REMARKABLE ROOMING HOUSE OF MME. LEMONDE (Target Margin) and Jason Grote's A CHRISTMAS CAROL (The Brick), and the regional premieres of Will Eno's THE REALISTIC JONESES, Bathsheba Doran's KIN and Liz Duffy Adams' OR, (Dobama).

She served as the Producing Artistic Director of the Brooklyn-based company Brave New World Repertory Theatre for three years, where she directed the world premiere of RN Healey's NUN$ and produced the New York premiere of Gertrude Stein's 100-year-old PINK MELON JOY. Prior to that, she was the co-Artistic Director of the cross media performance group 31 Down, and for five years directed the companys productions, including THE ASSEMBER DILATOR (PS 122), HERE AT HOME (Bushwick Starr), RED OVER RED (Incubator Arts Project), I USED TO BE CURIOUS (LOUD) (Prelude Festival), UNIVERSAL ROBOTS (Ontological) and THE SCREAM CONTEST (PS 122/Bumbershoot/Orange County Arts). She was a John Wells Directing Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, where she received her MFA.
