Writing Your Artist Statement
*Open to artists of all disciplines and career stages.

About this workshop:
Artist statements are hard to write, but they're an important tool for artists working in any discipline. In this workshop, led by author Nicole Hardy, you'll look at examples of successful artist statements and create your own. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a solid statement to use for grant, residency, or fellowship applications, on your website, and/or in your portfolio.

About the instructor:
Nicole Hardy's memoir, Confessions of a Latter-Day Virgin,  was a finalist for the 2014 Washington State Book Award. Her other books include the poetry collections This Blonde and Mud Flap Girls XX Guide to Facial Profilinga chapbook of pop-culture inspired sonnets.

Her work has appeared in literary journals and newspapers including The New York Times, and has been adapted for radio and stage. Her essay "Single, Female, Mormon, Alone" was noted in 2012s Best American Essays." She earned her MFA at the Bennington College Writing Seminars.


CANCELLATIONS & CREDIT POLICY

Artist Trust reserves the right to cancel any program. If cancelled, a full refund will be applied. If a participant needs to cancel for a paid program, the following policy will apply:

A full refund can be issued through Brown Paper Tickets if notified 5 days prior to the program date.

A transfer credit of equal or lesser value can be issued (through Artist Trust) if notified within 48 hours of program. Credit will be valid for up to 12 months.

Artist Trust cannot provide refunds for missed classes. Please contact the coordinator if you have any questions regarding specific content of the workshop.

These refund policies are in place because workshops have limited space and this is intended to ensure we are able to offer the space to another attendee if notice is provided far enough in advance.
