Re-imagining Racial Reconciliation and Healing through the Power of Storytelling
Seattle
Seattle, WA
Compartir este evento

"When human beings gather in groups or in communities, a depth of awareness and insight, a type of transcendent knowing, becomes available to us that can inform wise action and extraordinary results. We call this type of knowing collective wisdom and believe it to be a potential of all groups as an innate human capacity." ~The Power of Collective Wisdom: And the Trap of Collective Folly (2009) by Alan Briskin and Sheryl Erickson

There is a need for Racial Healing and Reconciliation in all aspects of American life. This is a gathering of people who are ready to experience the circle process with a focus on racial healing and who are interested in learning how to bring racial conversations to their community. Many times our approach to racial healing is in response to a crisis in the community. We are offering a different way of talking about race that is safe, preemptive and proactive. We aim at building strong relationships capable of holding the important healing dialogues around race and work toward racial reconciliation.

Intended outcomes for this workshop:
1.  Experience the peacemaking circle process for engaging in race-based conversations,
2.  Bear witness to individual and collective healing,
3.  Utilize storytelling to make what appears to be invisible, visible and tap into the collective wisdom, and
4.  Engage in a process of racial reconciliation.
