Summer by the Sea
Its time for the Athens Choral Societys annual summer variety show. This year, join us for a Summer by the Sea, directed by Greg Kirby, with timeless beach songs like Surfin USA, Love Letters in the Sand  and Under the Boardwalk, along with classics like Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini, Blue Bayou, and Bathing Beauty.
Summer by the Sea will be performed at the Seney-Stovall Chapel at 200 North Milledge Avenue at 7:30 pm on Friday, August 18 and Saturday, August 19, with matinees at 2:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday, August 20. Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased from any Athens Choral Society member or by going to www.athenschoralsociety.com and clicking on the Tickets link.
The ACS is continuing the tradition of raising money for a local charity during this show. We have collected an average of $3300 every year since 2008.
The Athens Choral Society is the areas oldest non-audition chorus and was founded in 1971. They sing at least two classical concerts during the year, directed by Stephen Mitchell and accompanied by Sara Lorusso. The summer show raises the funds needed to allow those concerts to be free to the public.
