Conference: "Sephardi Jewries: History, traditions and culture."
Conference
Sephardi Jewries: History, Traditions, and Culture by Rifka Cook

The purpose, in this presentation, is to share with you part of the authors research relating to the Sephardi culture. Rather than merely presenting information you can find in the Internet or in books, here is intended to describe, in particular, what it means to be Sephardi today, how and when the culture originated, and what values the culture have received from the legacy of its forebears. Through this presentation, you are invited to travel to the Sephardi heritage, tracing the author ancestor' footsteps, through two distinct segments: First, a brief description of the political and historical period in which the Sephardim first appeared. Secondly, it will be presented a short video clip, which reveals implicitly one of the situations the Jews experienced when they arrived in America. You will have the opportunity to hear the language the Sephardim employ in communicating with one another, the language the Jews used --and are using still -- in their everyday life.
