Mother's Day Solo Piano Concert by Tamir Hendelman: An afternoon of music and art
Pianist-composer Tamir Hendelman returns to the Atelier, a treasured oasis of art and music. The artistic home of celebrated sculptor Tanya Ragir and renowned piano restorer David Andersen will serve as a backdrop for an afternoon of musical delights inspired by Tamir's travels and interactions with other artists. Poems, iconic pieces of art and
recent sculptures by Tanya Ragir will serve as inspiration for spontaneous improvisations.
There will likely be some familiar melodies, transformed to meld with the relaxed afternoon
celebrating mothers. Come after your brunch or before the family dinner. A song or two from the Great American songbook may appear, or perhaps an Israeli folk song- we'll see how the wind blows.
It will be an in-the-moment experience, where the audience will be invited to (if the spirit moves them) check out some art ahead of the concert and write a short poem or musing- and a few of these will be shared and read- and reflected on by Tamir with some more spontaneous piano pieces.
The Atelier has been the site of many intimate outdoor afternoons of music in years past.
Tamir is glad to return to it after several years- and we will now be in the front salon for an indoor concert with views of the lovely garden, Tanya Ragir's studio and David Andersen's piano atelier.
