Lowland Hum - Chattanooga House Concert - 3/31
This is going to be a sweet Friday night semi-acoustic set with Lowland Hum, on tour from Charlottesville, Virginia. "Sincerity, community and beauty is how I think of Lowland Hum; the sounds of Lauren and Daniel Goans. Thin is the husband and wife duo's third album since their 2013 debut, further refining their hushed harmonies and aural paintings." - Bob Boilen, NPR Music
"Since [Lowland Hum's NPR Tiny Desk Concert], theyve been steadily growing a faithful following and riding the wave of popularity rise alongside a movement for conscious music that forgoes the showboat-y anthems of stadium bands in favor of thoughtful, haunting folk movements to sit back and really listen to and relate to." - Jonathan Frahm, For Folk's Sake
BASIC DETAILS Friday, March 31st Private home in North Shore Doors 7:15 PM (come hang out before!) Music 8:15 PM Suggested contribution: $10 - $20 BYOB + bring a finger food to share if you can! Music & more about Lowland Hum: www.lowlandhum.com
MORE ABOUT CHATTANOOGA HOUSE SHOWS This is an intimate show with emerging art-folk duo from Virginia, Lowland Hum! A few things to know if you haven't been to one of our house concerts before.
We find talented, professional musicians who are touring across the country. We look for artists who have something special. Some of them are selling out 1000 person venues in their home market and winning music awards. Lot of them have been invited to perform on internationally recognized video series like NPR Tiny Desk Concerts, Audiotree Live, or Paste Magazine. For many of them, this is their first or second time in Chattanooga or have only passed through between bigger cities.
Lucky for us, that means we get to see them in an intimate setting and you can be a part of putting our town on the map for hosting/supporting emerging, independent artists.
These shows are not promoted publicly. This is a unique opportunity (and such a treat) to experience live music, up close and personal. The audience (aka you!) is just as important to making these shows special. We want a full room of friends, and friends of friends, who enjoy discovering new music, meeting new people, and want to see independent artists thrive. If you're a local musician, we'd also love for you to come and meet fellow artists in other areas so we can create more bridges for our local talent.
There is a suggested contribution of $10 - $20. 100% goes to the artist/s. Your contribution helps make Chattanooga another reason why artists will come back every time they're on tour (even when they get big and famous ;)).
