Leadership Kitsap Alumni Association Spring Social
You are invited to our Leadership Kitsap Alumni Association annual spring networking event.
Join us for an intimate evening with Leonard Forsman, Chairman of the Suquamish Tribe. Leonard will share a brief history of the Suquamish Tribe.
Leonard Forsman has served as Chairman of the Suquamish Tribe since 2005. Formerly the director of the Suquamish Museum, Leonard has also worked as an archaeologist for a private consulting firm. He has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Washington and a M.A. in Historic Preservation from Goucher College. Leonard grew up in Suquamish on the Port Madison Indian Reservation and continues to live there with his wife Jana Rice. He is a descendant of the family of Chief Seattle, signer of the Treaty of Point Elliott of 1855. He served as Suquamish Tribal Council Secretary between 1987 and 2002. He serves as a member of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation appointed by President Barack Obama in 2013.
