The Waltz of the Toreadors

A rarely-produced comic gem from French writer Jean Anouilh, THE WALTZ OF THE TOREADORS tells the story of retired General Leon St. Pe, a man who has pined away for a woman he once waltzed with at a military ball 17 years earlier. Trapped in a loveless marriage to his hypochondriac wife, General St. Pe dreams of the day he can at last be with his true love, who has waited for him all those years.

What stands in the way of their happiness? Is it loyalty to his wife? The respect for his proper position in society? Or is it his own pompous self? Is the old waltzer now tripping over his own feet?

THE WALTZ OF THE TOREADORS is produced by Dukesbay Productions, an independent theatre company based in Tacoma, WA whose mission is to showcase and promote the work of artists of all ethnicities.

The show features a multiracial cast, who include Eric Ray Anderson* as General St. Pe.
Also featuring Joseph Grant, Aya Hashiguchi, Audrey Montague, Kathryn Grace Philbrook, Tim Takechi, Maria Valenzuela, Jackie Villava-Cua & Jeffery Weaver. It is directed by Randy Clark.
