Jenny & the Mexicats

The talented members of Jenny and the Mexicats hail from Spain and Mexico. Lead singer/trumpet player, Jenny Ball, is native to London, England. As a result of their varied influences, it is tricky to label them as a single style. These energetic players mix jazz rhythms, rockabilly, folk, flamenco, reggae and cumbia into a delicious, groovy, highly danceable, sexy stew. Formed in 2008, they have enjoyed worldwide popularity, resulting in over 75 million YouTube views of one of their videos, and to date, seven more with several million hits each! The band has only recently broken into the U.S. market. And boy, are we grateful. Their show at the Paradise Theater follows a headlining slot at last summer's Ridgway Concert Series, where they played late into the night to several hundred ecstatic dancers. Jenny and the Mexicats put on a magical show, and they are as enjoyable to watch as they are to dance to. We couldnt think of a better band to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with. This will be a night to remember in Paonia, Colorado.
