The Standard Bearer
Julian Sands and Neil Dickson have partnered up to present "The Standard Bearer, " a moving and funny one man, 50-minute play written by Stephen Wyatt about a Shakespearean actor on tour in West Africa. Sands directs and Dickson stars.

Julian Sands (DIRECTOR)has starred in many memorable productions. He came to the attention of NBC when the network cast him in the made-for-TV "The Sun Also Rises" and then with Anthony Hopkins in the television film "A Married Man." Sands also got notice in "Privates on Parade" and "The Killing Fields". When his funny and romantic role opposite Denholm Elliott in "A Room with a View" and his unusual role in "Gothic" were released audiences noticed him and were fascinated with his good looks and unusual but sometimes chilling appearance. He continued work on screen in "Vibes,'" " Impromptu" and Steven Spielberg's "Arachnophobia." One of his most memorable roles was Warlock, directed by Steve Miner. The film was such a major success that he returned for the terrifying sequel, "Warlock: The Armageddon." His other credits include, "Naked Lunch," "Tale of a Vampire," the title role in Dario Argento's "The Phantom of the Opera," Stephen King's "Rose Red, " "Ocean's Thirteen," "24"; and Smallville.  Julian also recently toured internationally with "A Celebration of Harold Pinter," a one man show directed by John Malkovich.

Neil Dickson (ACTOR) made his West End debut in London under the direction Sir John Gielgud and opposite Dame Judi Dench and Daniel Massey in "The Gay Lord Quex". He then created the role of Dean Rebel in the Mermaid Theatre production of "Trafford Tanzi", which brought him to the attention of the producers of NBC's 12-hour mini-series "Anno Domini (A.D.)" where he co-starred opposite Ian McShane, Susan Sarandon, James Mason and Ava Gardner. This led to Dickson playing the title role of James Bigglesworth in the Royal Premiere Film of "Biggles: Adventures in Time". Continuing to star in features and MOWs, Dickson finally arrived in America to star in the Universal TV series "She Wolf of London". Since then he has been seen in David Lynch's "Inland Empire", "Time Cop2", "Lost Lake", "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" and such TV series as "Chuck", "Alias", and "Sliders". His voice can be heard on numerous animated series including "Rugrats", "The Wild Thornberries", "Gargoyles", "Johnny Quest" and "Iron Man" as well as feature films including "Body of Lies", "Beowulf", "Aragon" and "Pirates of the Carribean".

In 1982 and 1983 he was Resident Writer with the London Bubble Theatre. Stephen has worked widely as a freelance playwright in theatre, radio and television ever since.  In 2008, his play, "Memorials to the Missing," won the Tinniswood Award for best original radio script of 2007 as well as Silver in the Best Drama category of the 2008 Sony Radio Academy Awards. In 2012 he won the Tinniswood Award again for his play, Gerontius. He spent two years as Royal Literary Fund Writing Fellow at the University of Sussex and a further year as RLF Writing Fellow on Greenwich University's Maritime campus. His first novel "Big Dipper" was published by Endeavour Press in October 2012. His three-part dramatisation of Dante's "The Divine Comedy" for Radio 4 was broadcast in March and April 2014. It was issued on CD by BBC Physical Audio in September 2014. His radio work for 2015 included "The Shadow of Dorian Gray,"  and "Finlandia," a play for Radio 3 starring Tim Pigott-Smith.
