CalGreen - "It's Integration and Implementation"
The program will update the local development and success of green building programs in the area and their transitions to the new State CALGreen code. Efforts to make the CALGreen code uniform in our area will be explained as well as the efforts to create a common methodology of verifying compliance in the region will also be in the presentation. Mr. Whitaker will identify the mandatory requirements of CALGreen and the associated enhanced measures that were adopted by amendment at the local level by each jurisdiction.
About the Presenter:
Michael Whitaker has been the Chief Building Official at the City of Santa Rosa since April of 2005. Formerly the assistant building official at the County of San Luis Obispo, Mr. Whitaker has over 20 years experience in code compliance that includes extensive experience as a plan checker, inspector, and code enforcement prior to his management positions and was the Past President of Central Coast Chapter of ICC. He has a MA degree in Economics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a BS from Cal Poly, SLO. Mr Whitaker has numerous code certifications and is a Build It Green Accredited Professional.
