Dietrich Strauses songs are a mix of timeless melody, literate lyricism, and a "virtuosic command of imagery. (The Artery, WBUR) Strause released his new album How Cruel That Hunger Binds on August 26th, produced by Zachariah Hickman (Ray LaMontage, Josh Ritter), the next benchmark in his steady evolution as one of the most eclectic writers and performers coming out of New England. His newest collection of songs is found somewhere in the shadows of the likes of Randy Newman, Nick Lowe, and Paul Simon. Strause dropped out of music school, where he was studying classical trumpet, to become a politics major and take up the guitar. But that hasnt kept him from incorporating his first instrument into the texture of his recordings, or from putting down the guitar to lead his band with just his voice and his trumpet. His last release Little Stones to Break the Giants Heart was featured in No Depression, The Bluegrass Situation, CMTs The Edge, and on Starbucks world wide playlist, helping him garner invitations on the road with folk luminaries such as Anais Mitchell, Great Lake Swimmers, and Sarah Jarosz.

As one third of the immensely popular new band Lula Wiles, Ellie in herself is a quadruple threat. Soulful textured vocals, a sturdy and deft hand on guitar, a deep soul that channels through her fiddle and a terrifically informed and fearless songwriter. All in all, Ellie has been mesmerizing audiences across the country with Lula Wiles but tonight you'll get the chance to see her on her own. We guarantee you won't be disappointed!
THE WOLFF SISTERS
Hailing from the cobble stone streets of Boston, The Wolff Sisters blend rock, blues, and roots music into their own unique sound. Their gritty songs draw from adventures all over New England that shaped their lives. The three sisters, Rebecca, Rachael, and Kat, create haunting harmonies that only siblings can manage to do. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, and Jackson Browne, The Wolff Sisters bring a refreshing sound and soul to the music scene. Their live performances are honest and raw, leaving you with their songs stuck in your head long after the show is over.
