God of Carnage

Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, Yasmina Reza's ("Art") play tells the story of two pairs of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, who meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. However, as the evening goes on, the parents become increasingly childish, resulting in the evening devolving into chaos.

Before the play begins, two 11-year-children, Benjamin and Henry, get involved in argument because Henry refuses to let Benjamin join his 'gang'. Benjamin knocks out two of Henry's teeth with a stick. That night, the parents of both children meet to discuss the matter. Benjamin's father, Alan, (played by Rob Hubler) is a lawyer who is never off his mobile phone. Benjamin's mother, Annette (played by Yo Younger) is in "wealth management" (her husband's wealth, to be precise), and consistently wears good shoes. Henry's father, Michael, (played by Eric Olson) is a self-made wholesaler with an unwell mother. Michel's wife, Veronica, (played by Denise Moss-Strand) is writing a book about Darfur. As the evening goes on, the meeting degenerates into the four getting into irrational arguments, and their discussion falls into the loaded topics of misogyny, racism and homophobia.
