Foraging Weekend with Adiantum School (JUNE)
There is no better place to immerse yourself in plant medicine than the forests on the eastern slope of the cascades. This will be a weekend of learning to identify the plants of this ecosystem, as well as how to use them medicinally. If ever there were an opportunity to learn in the field, this is it! Did I mention there will be camp fires?

The weekend will begin with check in starts at 2pm. There will be a short plant walk for those who arrive early.

On Friday evening, Natalie will give an intro talk at the campfire about wildcrafting, herbalism, and sustainability.

On Saturday we'll start the day with an intensive plant walk, back to camp for lunch, and then go back out to forage in few locations. Well make medicine back at camp (tea, tinctures), and cook up some different brews to experiment with. In the evening well have a big potluck dinner and spend the evening around the campfire (musical instruments are encouraged).

On Sunday morning we will endeavor on an epic red root (Ceonothus velutinus) harvest, which involves excavating enormous roots, which well scrub and peel back at camp. Everyone will get to take some home.

Some of the plants we will encounter: pipsissewa, red root, yarrow, balsam root, arnica, uva ursi, mullein, blue elder, alder, pedicularis, etc.

Meet like minded folks, become acquainted with a new ecosystem, bring home gobs of medicinal plants, and get fully immersed in herbalism. Sign up asap to ensure a spot!

Natalie is the owner/ operator of the Adiantum School of Plant Medicine, which is a local herb school in Seattle. In addition to a very diverse background of herbal studies, she has a background in field plant taxonomy (not to mention that she can spot some herbs from hundreds of feet away!). She also has a background in teaching, making her classes professional, informative and engaging. When she's not tumbling around in the trees harvesting plants, she's probably reading or writing sci-fi or fantasy.

Participants will be responsible for their own meals. Accommodations are a normal campground, with bathrooms and water, so bring a tent or small campervan.
