Saturday. January 28, 4 PM Violin and Harpsichord Recital: A Baroque Journey through the Enlightenment

Works by Corelli, Bach, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Couperin and more Played on period instruments. Performed in the intimate Crawford Gallery at the Custom House Maritime Museum, New London, Connecticut.
The concert will feature a Sonata by an extraordinary historic figure: the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a gifted mulatto who became nothing less than Marie-Antoinette's music teacher, a virtuoso violinist and also a quasi-invincible fencer. This music survived the post-mortem destruction of his musical output by Napoleon in his rage against black rebels in Haiti.

She has performed in orchestras and ensembles throughout New York City under the baton of many noted conductors. A dedicated music educator, Marina holds teaching positions at the Dalton School and the InterSchool Orchestras of NY and is the senior violin Teaching Artist of Midori & Friends. Marina is a graduate of the Mannes College of Music.
