Vajra Workshops presents ~ The Fierce Heart: From Despair to Action

Honoring the heart and remaining compassionate can be difficult when living in a world that can seem so full of chaos and contradiction. Come sit with community as we discuss the times were living in and how we can understand compassion as a fire within us tempered by the coolness of wisdom and insight. We'll experience exercises that will help cultivate gratitude, express and learn how to deal with our grief/overwhelm/anger/numbness for what is happening in the world, turning it into constructive action, and explore ways to listen to the wisdom of the heart even as we grapple with what it means to live during a time of paradox and massive change at the personal and collective levels. Participants can expect to explore personal and collective issues within community and will leave with concrete action steps.

This workshop will borrow heavily from the teachings of Joanna Macy and The Work That Reconnects, which uses deep ecology, Buddhism, systems theory and spiritual thought from around the world in order to build motivation, creativity, courage and solidarity for the transition to a sustainable human civilization.
