The design professionals have completed drawings, and the contractor has the building permit in hand. This is just the beginning of the contract administration and construction process. Contractors, design professionals, special inspectors and the AHJ all play key roles during construction. Come join us for a presentation on the journey from building permitting to Certificate of Occupancy from the perspective of the Building Official.

1) Attendees will understand the roles of the Design Professionals (architect and engineers), Special Inspectors and Authority having Jurisdiction (AHJ) during the contract administration / construction process.

2) Attendees will gain knowledge about the communications required / desired to the Building Department / Building Inspections Department during the contract administration phase of services including but not limited to Changes Orders, RFI, Value Engineering items and revised / updated drawings.

3) Attendees will understand the formal process required of the General Contractor in acquiring the Certificate of Occupancy including what is to be submitted and the various certifications.

4) Attendees will be knowledgeable about the LLR Complaint process and the South Carolina Notice and Opportunity to Cure Nonresidential Construction Defect Acts which became law on June 9, 2006.
