Preparing for Payroll Changes (FSLA Updates):

On December 1, 2016, updates to the US Department of Labors Overtime Rule will take effect. This update to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) amends the rules regarding white collar overtime exemptions and raises the salary threshold indicating eligibility from $455 per week to $913, or $47,476 per year. It also creates new penalties and fines that can add up quickly unchecked. Mt. Airy USAs CFO Aliyah Bonaparte will lead the workshop to ensure that businesses properly classify their employees, maintain immaculate employee files, and otherwise do not wave red flags to attract the IRS or Department of Labor.
