RAZOR

A Brazil where violence, prostitution and poverty and are part of the game of survival.

Razor outlines a naturalistic portrait of the Brazilian underworld where the prostitute Neusa Sueli and her pimp Vado suspect that the homosexual Veludo has stolen money from the room where they live. From there begins a game of survival, where poverty, prostitution and violence are present. The piece can be seen as a metaphor of the power between social classes in Brazil, since the characters, although belonging to the same social strata, are engaged in a continuous struggle for dominance over each other.

It was first played in Brazil in 1967 one year later the Military dictatorship would condemn the play for 15 years. As the reality has not change today this play is still used as a political tool in Brazil.

This is Brazil portrayed in one of the most controversial works of the renowned Brazilian author Plinio Marcos: "Razor Meat."
With adaptation of Leo Tatara, known theater director, especially in Cape Cod and memorable works as "Death and life Severina" and Thomas Trainer.

Razor brings to the stage again acclaimed actor Robson Lemos known of the Brazilian community for outstanding performances in plays and films such as ID and COBRA, and revelations as Americo and Claudia Valter Beleli, singer who makes his debut in a dramatic role and strong.
