Crossroads

Crossroads is the 5th Anniversary Performance of Maya Kite and Dancers. To celebrate, we have created a show that highlights what we do best as a company; the highly physical, the thoughtful and dramatic, and the intensely visual. Our followers on Facebook have selected two pieces from our past to rework and revive, Vertical Confinement and Hunting Ground. The third piece in this performance is Crossing. Crossing is a new work following a group of people who make the decision to leave their homes and search for a life someplace better. Told from the perspective of memory, Crossing is neither chronological nor consistent. We have tried to capture the momentous decision to leave an known hardship or even terror for a place and a life that is cannot be known until it is too late to turn back.
