HSA Theatre Department presents "The Continuum Project"
HSA Theatre Department presents "The Continuum Project"
Friday, September 30 @ 7pm

In partnership with African Ancestry, The Continuum Project presents a theatre performance and ceremony that explores the perceptions and realities of ancestry as it affects the lives and creativity of the participating artists.

ABOUT THE CONTINUUM PROJECT
The Continuum Project, Inc.is a non-profit organization that provides innovative artistic programming for the enrichment and empowerment of communities. Organically sprouting forth from the great success of IN THE CONTINUUM, a 2 person, 11 character play co-written by co-founder, Nikkole Salter, the power that simple, but profound production demonstrated in its ability to bridge a professional artistic aesthetic with community service while bringing people worlds apart together caused Co-Founders Salter and Nsangou Njikam to build a space where professional arts execution actively serves the community while linking people together.

Ms. Salter, together with incredibly talented artists and arts professionals on board, partnered with African Ancestry, Inc. and Piper Theatre Production, Inc. to launch and facilitate The CP's first initiative - The Legacy Program: Residency - in Brooklyn, NY on March 2, 2009. The LP: Residency, an arts-driven, positive ethnic idenity development program, is currently in it's 6th Cycle at William Alexander Middle School 51 and The Math & Science Exploratory School in NYC. The LP: Reflection - where the artists that facilitate the Residency use the experience to create a piece of professional art - launched June 25, 2010 with the first public concert reading of Glenn Gordon's RE:DEFINITION at the The Old Stone House. RE:DEFINITION, a one-man play in rhythm and rhyme, received its workshop production by the Hip Hop Theater Festival on October 28-29th 2011 in NYC at La Mama. Recently, the Legacy Program: Residency was selected to be featured on the upcoming PBS series, "Finding Your Roots," hosted by Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
