Wicked Weed Beer and Cheese Tasting

Join us in our Mezzanine at 6 pm on Thursday, September 1 for an educational and fun tasting of Wicked Weed Beers, paired with cheese.

Sami Prentice, Coastal Rep for Wicked Weed will be there to lead a discussion about Wicked Weed's Funkatorium, where their sour beers are produced. For the unfamiliar, Sour Beers are an up-and-coming category within craft brewing, often fermented with wild yeast. At one time, all beers were sour to some degree. Europe has a long tradition of sours that are delicious and, from a taste perspective, have a wide range of flavors, many of which are often associated with wine.

What better way to learn than with a beer in you hand, so we'll have keg of Wicked Weed Fille de Firme on tap, so you can enjoy a glass of this classic tart Farmhouse Ale while you learn about the Wicked Weed sour program. Following that, we will taste four additional beers from the Funkatorium, each paired with a sample of artisan cheese from the TRiO Cheese Shop. Additional beers will include Barrel-Aged Lunatic, Silencio, Montmaretto, and Brettaberry.

You can't miss this if you are a sour beer fan, and/or a fan of Wicked Weed and want to learn more about their operation. If you don't yet know about the amazing range of flavors that can be produced in sour beer, this is a great chance to get exposed to something new and see for yourself how well these beers pair with food.
