Washington Youth Garden Strolling Supper
TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR
The 2016 Washington Youth Garden Strolling Supper will celebrate 45 years of our work with the Washington, DC, community. The evening will feature great food from local chefs, live music, a silent auction, recipes from the Washington Youth Garden, and much more. This event is a way to engage and connect with our community, bond with fellow stewards of the environment, and celebrate 45 years of creating memorable outdoor learning experiences for youth.
This event is made possible by the generous donation of space by the Pepco Edison Place Gallery, as well as in-kind support from individuals, local businesses and restaurants, advertisers, and the staff and volunteers of WYG and FONA.
About the Washington Youth Garden Founded in 1971, Washington Youth Garden (WYG) is located on the grounds of the U.S. National Arboretum, providing unique, year-round environmental science and food education programs for D.C. youth and their families. The WYG is the principal public outreach and education program of the Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA), which supports the mission of the National Arboretum. WYG uses the garden as a living classroom, and facilitates hands-on science learning, inspires environmental stewardship and cultivates healthy food choices in youth and families. Each year, WYG serves more than 4,500 District students with quality educational programming that includes the establishment and care of school gardens.
