Little Shop of Horrors, the Musical
This musical takes place on "skid row" in the flower shop of Mr. Mushnik. He has taken in an assistant, Seymour, who tends the plants and another young woman, Audrey who helps with sales. Audrey is dating a rather mean dentist who does not treat her well at all. The plot involves a plant that Seymour names Audrey II after his co-worker with whom he is secretly in love. The plant thrives by being fed blood. The historical period is the 60s - 70s. The girl singers, Ronnette, Chiffon, and Crystal are named after three girls singing groups of the time.
Mr. Mushnik's flower shop increases its business when the plant, Audrey II is placed in the window.
