The iLoveMG tour is coming to Milwaukee. Featured is Kelly Barnhill, whose new multi-layered saga offers the same mix of fantasy elements, epic adventure, and gorgeous prose that made "The Witch's Boy" such a success, along with Brian Farrey, author of the Vengekeep Prophecies series, whose newest is a spooky, thrilling saga about a Utopian society with a dark secret. Here's more about "The Girl who Drank the Moon." Every year, the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope this sacrifice will keep her from terrorizing their town. But the witch in the Forest, Xan, is kind, and rescues the children, delivering them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey. But after she feeds the baby Luna moonlight instead of starlight, the potentially dangerous consequences of her mistake emerge as the young girl turns 13, and it does not help matters that a young man from the Protectorate is intent on killing the witch.
In "The Secret of Dreadwillow Carse," a princess and a peasant girl embark on a dangerous quest to outwit a warning foretelling the fall of the Monarchy. In the center of the verdant Monarchy lies Dreadwillow Carse, a desolate bog the people of the land do their best to ignore.
