NACS 7th ANNUAL GALA
"GIVING THANKS - HONORING THE FISHES"
You are cordially invited to join Native American Community Services of Erie and Niagara Counties, Inc. (NACS) at our 7th Annual Gala as we celebrate 41 years in a 'Tradition of Caring'.
To honor our Native American culture, each year our Annual Gala theme follows the verses of the traditional Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address, so this year the theme is "Giving Thanks - Honoring The Fishes."
Our night begins with a reception with basket raffles and silent auction items available to bid on. Our formal program begins at 6:30 pm with a welcome and traditional Thanksgiving Address. Dinner will be served by 6:45 pm.
The event will also include the presentation of our "Bundled Arrows Awards" which will recognize individuals or organizations who help to strengthen our community.
NACS has been a key service provider to the greater Buffalo-Niagara community since 1975. This annual fundraiser helps to fund gaps in our current programs, while laying the foundation for meeting the long-term needs of our community.
Tickets for the 2016 Gala are $100 per person*. We invite you to join us for what promises to be another memorable event.
*Please note that ticket prices will increase to $125 on September 15th!

NACS is excited to announce that our celebrity emcee for this year's Gala is the one and only RICK HILL!! Rick is a Tuscarora Artist, Author, Curator and Traditional Knowledge Educator! He is known to inspire, educate and entertain through his wisdom and his wit!
We are so excited he has agreed to come make the night even more special!!!

NACS is very happy to announce our "Bundled Arrows" Award winners for this year's Gala, they are:
* Dr. Lori Quiqley
* Jay and Theresa Clause
The awards are in recognition of their contributions and commitment to the strengthening of our local Native American community. Our awards are inspired by the Haudenosaunee Confederacy's Great Law of Peace in which the Peacemaker on his journey to unite the confederacy gave the strongest warrior in the village one arrow and told him to break it and the warrior easily did. He then bundled five arrows together to signify the original five nations to accept the Great Law and asked the same warrior to break it and he couldn't. This simple act showed that we are stronger working together then we are separate. The Award represents that they are a part of our bundle which together makes us stronger as we work to meet the needs of the community.
