The Science of HOPE: A Symposium for the Youth Serving Community
Too many of Americas youth have given up on hope for a better future, a safe future and a place where they belong. This symposium will teach us how to bring hope into young lives by applying the theory, science and language of hope in our work with children and families. Too many of us, have also given up hope and feel overly stressed working with youth facing multiple challenges and levels of risk. Dr. Hellman can help us re-open the door to hope and promise. Positive psychology is an emerging field of the scientific study of human strengths and the capacity for individuals, groups and communities to thrive. Within this field, hope has emerged as one of the top strengths contributing to well-being. Breakout sessions will provide specific tools and approaches to support our work with youth, their families, mentors and other caring adults to reinvigorate hope.
