Basic Plant ID: Wetlands
This class will focus on identifying the common trees and plants of a wetland. The mercer slough is a fantastic example of this. We will learn to compare leaves, stems, fruits and flowers and notice key traits of the plants. Examples of plants we will learn about are: willow, skunk cabbage, alder, spirea, and red osier dogwood. On the same day as this workshop, I will teach the Intro to Local Plant Medicine: Wetlands class at the same location. You can sign up for both!
Please wear appropriate footwear (boots preferred) and wear bug repellent for this workshop. Participants must be able to walk about 1 mile on a gravel pathway.
