There Are Places That Arent Here
There Are Places That Arent Here is an afternoon with four individuals whose practices engage with the internet, digital means of connection, bodily existence, and sincerity through poetry, humor, video, and performance.

Steve Roggenbucks live performances combine jokes, rants, poetry, and stories into a goofy, absurdist, and profound event, while Liz Bowens poems composite tender and compelling moments of physical experience and observation. Mary Boo Andersons image macros and poetry pull from stock photos, office supplies, and reflections on being alive, and Ryann Slausons videos offer strange layers of sound clips, appropriated gifs, and scrolling poetry.

Steve Roggenbuck is a poet, comedian, activist, and internet content maker whose work explores new forms art and humor can take on the internet. Roggenbucks YouTube videos, which have accumulated over 1 million views, were presented in the 2015 New Museum Triennial Sound Audience and the Oslo Poesifilm Festival in Norway. He has performed at over 250 events and recently completed a tour of all fifty states in the USA. Roggenbuck has six publications and takes care of book editing, tour booking, and social media at Boost House, a publisher and co-op house based in Tucson, AZ.

Liz Bowen is a poet and Ph.D. student in English and comparative literature at Columbia University. She spends a lot of time thinking and writing about unruly bodies, friendship, care and desire, and animals in the woods. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in The Atlas Review, Shabby Doll House, Gigantic Sequins, Contrary, and The YOLO Pages.

Mary Boo Anderson is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her art has been shown at Kimberly-Klark Gallery, The Outer Room and on her Mom's Fridge. She is also featured in Spy Kids Review and Things Created By People.

Ryann Slauson is an interdisciplinary artist working in video, performance, sculpture, and painting. Slauson was an artist-in-residence at Grin City Collective in Grinnell, IA and The Wassaic Project in Wassaic, NY, and has exhibited her work at AIR Gallery, Good Work Gallery, Franklin Street Works, and The Wassaic Project, among others. Slausons paintings are also included in New American Paintings MFA Annual Issue #123.
