Broadway Chamber Players

Join BCP as we conclude our third season with a world premiere by fellow Broadway musician, David Wolfson. Accompanying this new work are two rare pieces by two award-winning New York composers, Samuel Barber and Norman Dello Joio. Barbers neo-classical Capricorn Concerto hauntingly displays his inner desires to return to composing while completing his military duties thus producing a piece full of distraction and emotional juxtaposition. The son of Italian immigrants, Dello Joios colorfully intimate and rhythmically playful Trio sweeps romantically off the page.

Broadway Chamber Players comprises the finest instrumentalists, composers, and conductors across classical, jazz, and new-music fields, unified by one common thread--we all perform on Broadway. Our beloved partner in this exciting venture is St. Malachy's-The Actors' Chapel, which has remained an active, integral part of the dynamic Times Square/Theater District community since its founding in 1902. With the chapel's neo-Gothic pillars and superb acoustics serving as our home venue, Broadway Chamber Players will be able to showcase this living art form--right in the heart of Times Square.
