McCall SummerFest 2016: Greatest Hits!

With something for everyone, this evenings concert will be a crowd-pleaser. Samantha Kantak will perform opera and operetta favorites by Dvorak and from Die Fledermaus, Barber of Seville and more. This year marks her first SummerFest appearance, coming off a recent debut with the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra. She will be joined by Kristen Hertzenberg for a delightful duet. Scott Thornburg will dazzle with the popular Carnival of Venice for trumpet and orchestra. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician around the world. Currently, he is a professor at Western Michigan University, and a member of the acclaimed Western Brass Quintet and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. These performances will make for an evening not to be missed!

SummerFest 2016 is a week-long festival of classical chamber music and pops concerts held at several venues in and around McCall, Idaho, presented by McCall Music Society.

David Itkin returns as SummerFest's Artistic Director and Conductor, following a successful 2015 debut. He is the Music Director/Conductor of the Abilene Philharmonic, Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of North Texas College of Music, Conductor Laureate of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, author of Conducting Concerti and a composer.
In addition to the 46-piece SummerFest Orchestra, featured soloists for 2016 include: Kristen Hertzenberg, soprano; Tim Fain, violin; Samantha Kantak, soprano; Scott Thornburg, trumpet; and McCall's very own Tom Robin Harris on organ.
