Bach's Goldberg Variations
Repast created its own arrangement of Bach's Goldberg Variations for a chamber ensemble of flute, violin, cello, bassoon, and harpsichord. Some of the variations are left in their original form of solo harpsichord, but in others, Repast distributes the voices among different instruments, giving each line a distinct timber. Especially effective in the canonic variations, this gives the whole work a beautiful variety of sound color.
