The three most complicated mental health concerns of older adults are dementia, depression, and delirium. Many people confuse these concerns with normal aging. But it is crucial to recognize and differentiate among these. Delirium requires immediate medical attention and depression can lead to serious health issues or suicide. Depression also can be misdiagnosed as a dementia. This class will clarify the differences and identify appropriate treatment for each.
Our speaker, Karen Kent, is a licensed mental health counselor with a specialty in geriatrics.
