"Tomorrow" - A Play about Superman

Join us for two performances of a new locally produced play that will take you back into a very interesting time in American and pop culture history.

The play is about Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, two sons of Eastern European Jewish immigrants who meet in Cleveland in the 1930s and quickly become friends over their shared love for science fiction. Jerry liked writing and Joe was an artist, so the two soon began working together on stories, trying to come up with an idea that will get them out of their poor neighborhood. The play reveals what the first ever Superman story was like, how Jerry's troubled relationship with his father influenced the Man of Steel, and who the real life inspiration for Lois Lane was- as well as how corporate schemes took Jerry and Joe's character away from them for 30 years, and how they eventually got some of it back.

The play is written and directed by Joseph Eck, a native of Lancaster County and recently graduate of Millersville University with a B.A. in English. He first started work on "Tomorrow" three years ago and it was first performed at Millersville University in October 2014. He is thrilled to be doing it again at Tellus360 and hopes that the play only gets bigger and better as he continues to work on it.

The remainder of the cast and crew of the production is made up primarily of current and former Millersville University students.
