As the popularity of backyard chickens grows, more folks are wondering how to butcher older birds, the surprise rooster, or exploring how tochoose breeds that are dual purpose for meat and eggs. Join Soil Sisters LeAnn Powers of Lucky Dog Farm and Carrie Jones for a detailed tour of the meatbird barn and pasture.

This workshop will include a butchering demonstration and taste samplings of two different breeds of pastured meat chickens. Older children(ages 12 and over) welcome with ticketed adult and own paid ticket (for the child).
