Vineyard Preparation for 2016 - Northern Illinois
There are so many things to consider in order to produce a high-quality crop. This workshop will present concepts important to timely vineyard management practices, including tissue sampling canopy management, crop estimation, as well as provide tips to getting a good relationship started with a winery.
Speakers and Topics include:
Michael White, Iowa State University: Vineyard mgmt post-frost injury (if necessary), Canopy Management, Sprayer Calibration
Galena Cellars/NIWG Vineyard Walk
Sarah Bowman, SIU: Vineyard Data Sampling, Tissue Analysis, Crop Estimation
Additionally, winemakers are encouraged to bring a wine or two to share with the group for active discussion.
Workshop begins at 1 PM, and should conclude by 5PM. For IGGVA Members: Advance registration price $5 for education session only. Advanced registration will close 48hrs prior to the event. Registration is available at the door for $10/person (make checks to "IGGVA").
