Book 'Em!

We all know that education is the key to success. But some, as they say, are more successful than others. Education can be a pipeline to a fulfilling career, or for more and more people, it can be a pipeline to incarceration. DB Comedy (also known as Democracy Burlesque) - Chicagos only theatre company dedicated to political satire explores how some students are targeted from the get-go to end up in jail in BOOK EM! SKETCH COMEDY ABOUT THE SCHOOL-TO-PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.

BOOK EM! Features original sketch comedy written by our crack Writers of Wrongs and performed by The Actors of Evil, with each show featuring live music, some of Chicagos finest up-and-coming standup comics, and special guest acts of all shapes and sizes and genres. PLUS, each show features a Cause Celebre a worthy Chicago organization doing good work for everyone.

**During each performance of BOOK EM!, we will be collecting womens gently used handbags/totes/backpacks and personal hygiene products, to be donated at the end of the run to Sarahs Circle to give to women in shelters. Patrons who bring such items will receive a $3 discount for that performance.

BOOK EM! Opens Tuesday, April 5, at 7:30 pm at Marys Attic, 5400 North Clark Street. Doors open at 7. Tickets are $15, $12 for students and seniors, with group rates available. The April 5 show is Industry Night, with $10 or pay-what-you-can for those the theatre, nonprofit, or political industries. BOOK EM! Runs every Tuesday until May 3.
