The Ladybug Festival presents Hotsy Totsy, No Good Sister, and Nalani and Sarina
The Ladybug Festival presents a wonderful evening of talented performers at the Smyrna Opera House on Saturday April 9th!  Hotsy Totsy, No Good Sister, and Nalani and Sarina are all extremely popular up and coming female acts in the tri state area.  With the Ladybug Festival growing exponentially every year and scheduled for July 21st in Wilmington, we are so excited to welcome some of the artists that frequently play the event.

Hotsy Totsy - Hotsy Totsy started as an a cappella Andrews Sisters tribute trio assembled to accompany a World War II exhibit brought in to the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ in 2001. The girls proved so popular that, what was supposed to be a one month stint, ended up extending through seven. At the close of their final contract, the girls decided they had too good a thing going to let it go; thus, Hotsy Totsy was born.

Fast forward to the present. Hotsy Totsy has expanded beyond the initial Andrews Sisters specialty and found their niche as a reto-pop novelty act. While they still enjoy performing nostalgic hits of days gone by, they now pen original tunes evocative of that golden age, as well as reinvent today's chart toppers to sound reminiscent of yesterday's favorites. They have crafted a signature "Hotsy" sound and style that takes everything that made the girl groups of the 40s, 50s, and 60s so delicious, and makes it relevant in today's music scene.

No Good Sister - No Good Sister is a female vocal trio out of Philadelphia, PA.

In the Fall of 2012, a mom, a teacher, and a waitress, decided to turn their mutual admiration for each other's music, writing and voices into a musical project that would both showcase them as individuals, but especially highlight their deep affinity for tight 3-part harmonies.

Since the formation of No Good Sister, just over a year ago, Meaghan Kyle, Jess MacDowell, and Maren Sharrow have performed at World Cafe Live, both in Philadelphia and Wilmington, The Tin Angel, Fergie's Pub, The Fire, Underground Arts, Milkboy Philly, Ortliebs, Silk City to name a few, and appear regularly in the Four Seasons Lounge. In January of 2014, they were selected by World Cafe Live at The Queen as the Unsung Hearo standout performer of 2013, and won a slot in Hearo.fm's 2014 SXSW showcase. No Good Sister also performed at the 2015 Ladybug Music Festival. They are currently recording their original music and will be releasing their first EP by year's end.

Nalani and Sarina - Getting music fans to agree on anything is next to impossible. That's why the quick rise of 22-year-old sisters Nalani & Sarina -- from a small town in west-central New Jersey to national notoriety and recognition -- is such an astounding story. These two audacious young artists have developed a distinctive blend of traditionalist soul-rock and modern pop, and their stylistic alchemy is likely to keep their faces in the spotlight for years to come. Legendary music critic and Sirius radio host Dave Marsh, recently called their latest EP, Scattered World, the singing duo's latest set, "some of the best music being made in 2016", and fans, critics and taste-makers have echoed his praise. The pop marketplace can be fickle and fractious, but Nalani & Sarina have all the elements in place for success and stardom.

You might say that Nalani & Sarina were born in stereo: they're identical mirror twins. Nalani plays her guitar right-handed; Sarina is a lefty. When they're both singing and strumming, it feels like the song has come to greet the listener with arms wide open. Their captivating look is on display in the video for "Get Away", a propulsive cut from Scattered World that recently won The Freshmen contest on mtvU, and remains in regular rotation on the channel. In the clip -- and in their stage show, too -- Nalani & Sarina present themselves with the swagger and confidence of established stars who know they've got something essential to share.

A full bar will be available.  Doors will open at 6:15pm.
