Timothy Greenfield-Sanders Presents his Film - Lou Reed: Rock and Roll Heart

On Saturday, April 2 at 7:30 pm, Tompkins Corners Cultural Center will present Timothy Greenfield-Sanders showing his 1998 film, "Lou Reed: Rock and Roll Heart", as it was shown as an American Masters Special on PBS.

Timothy Greenfield-Sanders is a longtime Putnam Valley resident whose distinctive films for HBO and PBS are well known. Originally a portrait photographer, he has documented the leading figures of Arts and Culture in books and exhibitions. His other films include The Womens List" (currently on PBS), The Black List," The Boomers List," and About Face."

Lou Reed was a member of the Velvet Underground, a group associated with Andy Warhol. His long solo musical career as songwriter and performer profoundly influenced Rock & Roll. When he died in 2013, Mr. Greenfield-Sanders, a long-time friend, commented, Lou Reeds music was the backbeat to our lives and his lyrics were our conscience. His death is a blow, not only to New York City, but also to the world.
