A Band of Legends Celebrates Sam Phillips
A Band of Legends pays tribute to Florence native Sam Phillips, who founded Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Sam Phillips was an American musician, businessman, record executive, music producer, and disc jockey who played an important role in the emergence and development of rock and roll and rockabilly as the major form of popular music in the 1950s.
A Band of Legends is comprised of the supremely versatile studio musicians who created the music behind the worlds most famous stars: JAMES BURTON, BOBBY WOOD, NORBERT PUTNAM, GENE CHRISMAN, and ANDY CHILD.
Hear them play the music and tell the tales w/ special guests The Holladay Sisters.
The meet and greet will have food and drinks as well as the opportunity to meet the musicians.
Meet and Greet starts at 6:00 pm in the George Lindsey Black Box Theatre (directly behind Norton Auditorium) for those with tickets.
