Troy Johnson is an award-winning food writer, TV host and humorist. Troy has written numerous stories on sustainable food systems in San Diego, as well as fraud in those systems. His memoir Family Outing was published by famed publisher Richard Seaver and Arcade Publishing in 2008. Troy parlayed a poetry degree into a 10-year gig as a successful rock journalist (Billboard, Spin, etc.). He wrote and hosted an Emmy-winning, TV show about indie rock, including live performances from The Buzzcocks, TV on the Radio and Peaches (plus Maroon Fives TV debut). Then he saw Jesus in a short rib in 2007 and dedicated himself to writing about food. By 2010 his hilarious, irreverent food writing won the highest journalism awards in Southern California, and Food Network tapped him to write and host the travel series, Crave. Troy also wrote and hosted Food Networks one-hour special Best Thing on Sliced Bread, and has appeared on Iron Chef America and Best Thing I Ever Ate. Currently, he is the restaurant critic for San Diego Magazine and an anchor judge on Food Networks prime-time series, Guys Grocery Games with Guy Fieri.

Executive Chefs Jeff Hubbard and Kara Snyder, Regional Chef Pete Balistreri, and Regional Manager Leanne Ringquist will create a family-style, farm-to-table experience that you won't want to miss!

By working with small local farmers, ranchers, artisans, boutique wineries, breweries and coffee roasters, Tender Greens provides the best quality ingredients and products to their guests.
