Palm + Gnarwhal + Treatment
Philadelphia-via-Hudson, NY band Palm's style is genuine and unaffected. Their music is complex, yet intuitive. Seeing them perform live, you're watching a dialogue between band members; the tradition of the rock band is turned on its head as each instrument plays melodic lines that fit together in a transient equilibrium. The result is a distinctly 21st century brand of polyphony that draws from the syntax of rock, but transcends it. Their debut full-length record, Trading Basics, is out now on Exploding Sound and Inflated Records.
