ISLE of KLEZBOS Debut at Pangea
ISLE of KLEZBOS' premiere at Pangea brings the acclaimed, internationally-touring all-gal ensemble back to the band's East Village roots, for an extra evening's celebration of International Women's Day.
Now in the group's lucky 18th year, ISLE of KLEZBOS will bring their "quartet special" to the neighborhood's heymish yet sophisticated supper club, located on Second Avenue in the very stretch where NYC's Yiddish Theater was once vibrantly enshrined. Band repertoire ranges from rambunctious to entrancing: neo-traditional folkdance, mystical melodies, Yiddish swing & retro tango, late Soviet-era Jewish drinking song, and re-grooved Second Avenue standards, as well as genre-defying original compositions.
