Master Class Series -- Playbreaking as Playmaking with Adam L. Sussman

Playbreaking as Playmaking: a collaborative workshop in re-envisioning your work.

A facilitated workshop designed to explode ideas of dramaturgy on a specific work-in-progress. Attendees will work on a play in the form of an outline and a scene. Working with other attendees, the work will then be "exploded" in specific and various ways: what if your main character never appeared onstage? What if a prop was the point of focus? What if the chronology was inverted? The workshop is specifically intended to give playwrights fresh perspective and inspiration and open the pathway for new vision and visions.

ADAM L. SUSSMAN is a director, dramaturg, and performer. He served as the Directing Fellow at the Berkeley Rep last season, assistant directing on "Party People," "Head of Passes" and Anna Deavere Smith's "Notes from the Field..." He is a member of Ragged Wing Ensemble, a founding member of the theater collective HATCH, literary manager at Custom Made Theatre. He has directed with Playwright's Foundation, Impact Theater, Playground, PianoFight, Just Theater, The Theater Offensive, AmiosSF,and SF Theater Pub. Adam is a recipient of Theater Bay Area's 2013 Titan Award and a 2011 Best of the Fringe award for "Quatre-vingt-quatre."

Cost for PCSF members - $45
Cost for non-members - $105 includes the class and a one-year PCSF Membership.
