The Dance Complex will present three weekends of performances featuring the inaugural CATALYSTS five choreographers chosen for their unique, developing artistic voices and for their focused aim to move dance forward in a performance series intent on deepening how, and how often, we look at dance.

The CATALYST program allows selected artists to rehearse, teach, and show work, plugging into all aspects of their artistry and culminating in a series of fully charged performances. This fall, choreographers Chavi Bansal, Callie Chapman, Michael Figueroa, Sarah Mae Gibbons, and Kathleen Nasti have delved into their individual focuses of dance installation and film, memory and spirit, spectacle and uproar. The program now concludes in an unprecedented three-week series of curated, rotating performances by the CATALYSTS along with guest artists from our region and beyond.

CATALYST audiences will ignite their minds with the series' dynamic and distinct dance works, crystallizing their experience by attending a show each weekend. The performance schedule is on "shuffle" mode, featuring a different line-up each night, so audience can revisit dances just as we listen to songs again and again. A host of pre- and post-show dialogues will spark conversation on what we just saw and what else we have seen, inviting audiences to develop their eye and experience seeing dance.

The CATALYST Performance Series runs January 23rd February 6th at The Dance Complex, 536 Mass Ave, Cambridge MA 02139. Showtimes are Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 7pm. Tickets are $30 VIP/$20 General/$15 BDA Members.
