Mentoring Matters: The Power of Relationships
The deadline for registration is Friday, February 19th.
Winter Mentoring Symposium in Spokane.
The purpose of the symposium, Mentoring Matters: The Power of Relationships, is to provide a regional opportunity for mentors and mentoring organizations to come together for professional development and personal enrichment. We intend to provide a symposium that will inspire and motivate.
Gonzaga University, along with 8 other local non-profits, has opened its beautiful campus to host this all-day symposium to 150 volunteer mentors and professionals from around the region. During the symposium, guests will be welcomed with a continental breakfast and local mentoring advocate, Marty Gonzales. Guests have the option to choose either a professional or mentor track with 8 speakers, three of which will have just presented at the National Mentoring Conference in Washington, D.C. There will be a wide spectrum of relevant topics from Youth Voice to sustaining a community-based mentoring program.
All attendees will be energized by lunch in the new Hemmingson Center while hearing from nationally acclaimed author and speaker, Michael Garringer, from MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership. The afternoon will start with relevant topics to our region including the rise in homeless teens and teaching healthy relationships among youth. Janet Heubach from Mentoring Works Washington will be our Capstone Speaker on positive practices for building relationships.
You will be inspired and enriched throughout the day. Walking away with tools to continue your work in empowering our young people through relationships!
